I found the following particularly interesting:

An official clarification announcement on behalf of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, stating it does not use the internet to collect donations and that it has no software to that end. Furthermore, any person or website claiming to collect donations on its behalf on the network is a fraud, “who wishes to collect money for himself in this ugly and irresponsible manner… We wish to disconnect ourselves completely from such websites and people.”

I suspect they are doing more than merely trying to line their pockets with jihadi gelt. The announcement can be found here:
